March is National Nutrition Month!

It’s National Nutrition Month and this year’s theme is “Nutrition from the Ground Up”. National Nutrition Month (NNM) is the American Dietetic Association’s (ADA) nutrition education and information campaign. This is the time of year to share with others the importance of good nutrition and to step up your own efforts in eating well. You can bring NNM into your home, your child’s school, and your workplace. Here at the Michael & Susan Dell Center for Healthy Living, we celebrate all month long with Fresh Fruit Fridays. We put out an array of produce one morning each week to share with faculty, staff, and students. We've found that everyone seems to enjoy the event. More importantly, it serves as a reminder just how many choices there are in the produce department and gives everyone a chance to try things they don't normally pick...

To learn more about National Nutrition Month and to get ideas for events to hold at your school or workplace, visit the ADA’s NNM website: http://www.eatright.org/nnm/

To find out how well you’re eating, take the interactive quiz on ADA’s website: http://old.eatright.org/videos/nnm/2009%20quiz/index3.swf

In honor of NNM, we’ll be posting on a variety of nutrition topics all month long. What are you doing to get the word out?
